We stopped here this afternoon for a quick snack and drink on our way back to Rhode Island. The town had a really nice setup, with the street closed off so pedestrians, families, children, and dogs could enjoy the area. It made for a very relaxing atmosphere.
The food was decent for a quick stop. We had drinks and pretzel sticks, and both were good. Service was a little slow, but our server was very friendly and pleasant. Since it was a beautiful day outside, we honestly didn’t mind waiting a bit.
The reason for the lower rating is because shortly after we were seated, we had a very strange and uncomfortable interaction with someone who appeared to be a staff member or manager. She approached us abruptly, seemed to mistake my boyfriend for someone else, and began calling out names toward us. When he politely explained that his name was John, she walked away without apologizing or clarifying the situation.
It was an unexpected and uncomfortable moment, especially during what was otherwise a nice stop on our vacation. We understand that misunderstandings happen, but it would have gone a long way if the situation had been handled more professionally or with a simple apology.
Aside from that experience, the atmosphere was enjoyable, the drinks were good, and the servers we interacted with were friendly. Unfortunately, that one interaction really affected our first impression.
